they’re called “negative calorie foods” because it takes more energy to digest them than they actually contain themselves… for example : say an apple has 60 calories but you burn 100 calories through the digestion process. 60 calories – 100 calories = -40 calories
There’s no such thing as a negative calorie food. Sorry. On the other hand, filling up on these very LOW calorie foods instead of high calorie junk food would be a good way to lose weight. There’s no harm in eating a lot of fruit and veggies (as long as you eat other stuff too).
Friends keep asking me if I started smoking meth.
@HIGSOFX I’ve lost about 60lbs in a little less than 4 months. Not even working out very hard, and not eating strictly negative calorie foods. I’ll add boneless skinless chicken to a salad for instance, with some fat-free Italian dressing. It does work, the diet just gets monotonous, hard to add variety.
@mkk316 Couldn’t hurt.
Do you have to take any vitamin supplements while on a diet like this? Or do the veggies and protein provide enough of that for you?
@FoolishInTheEnd, pretty much almost all plant based foods are negative calorie foods. The ones that aren’t will defintely not make you fat either cause your body is designed to digest those types of food
can some give a list of the negative calorie foods
@philosophermike Onions yes, but not pickles. Onions aren’t as good as the green vegetables, but they are a negative calorie food. Pickles are high in sodium, and like everything, should be eaten in moderation. Too much sodium is not good for your health, so refrain from pickles if your trying to stay healthy.
@HIGSOFX Yes it does. Your body needs the nutrients out of that food, and those foods are hard for your body to digest. So, when the food enters your digestive system, your body is working very hard to get the nutrients out of that food; your body is essentially burning calories to try to get the nutrients out of that food. Its much better to eat negative calorie foods with protein because protein keeps your metabolism going. Celery with peanut butter is one of the best snacks you can have
@LizziexFarriswheel yep
Does this actually work?
yes they are
are grapefruits negative calories?
Yup
Plus they fill you up!
pickles are not on the list but onions are, asparagus broccoli cabbage carrots celery cucumber garlic green beans lettuce radish spicnish zucchini apple bluberries canteloupe cranberries and the list goes on lol look it up on google it tells you the rest!!
is it working for you? luckily i like most of these foods so it should make it easy once i start
great video, thank you.
Pickles will make you retain water due to the salt…I know only that much, sorry.
What about onions and pickles?
I love negative calorie foods. plus they are health
I’m eating them like crazy to loose weight
Crazymike, i think you must be an idiot (not me) for taking this post personal and writing personal comments about people you don’t know… I am a scientist actually… Not only that but also I worked in this field in different places for ten years. There is no easy magical solutions in weight loss… Simple fact but difficult to accept for people who are used to easy solutions…
you DO get energy from it! it has the best energy you can get but to get to that energy your body needs to use more CALORIES to burn it then your actually getting NOT the important vitamins and minerals
why are you so sure that this is bullshit? Mmh? are you a scientist? a doctor maybe? how about some one that actually tests this stuff to find out? You have got to be an idiot if you still think there is no suck thing as negative calorie foods. Please tell me why you think what you think.
