Because stupid people buy them thinking they will lose weight.

Caffine speeds up your heart rate and will burn a little bit of fat during the day. No it’s not bad for you, as long as you abuse it. Don’t go with the 5 cups a day method…hypertension.

I dont think caffiene is bad for diets (bad in general) it is what the caffiene is in that is bad. I used to be addicted to caffinated soda which caused me to gain alot of weight.

Black Coffee does not have much effect on weight gain and that had caffiene.

Some diet pills contain caffeine because it keeps you from being hungry.

It’s not the caffine, it’s what’s mixed with it…sugar, cream,…that’s where the calories are.

Caffeine isn’t “bad” for you, so long as you don’t abuse it, as the poster above said already. Caffeine has two effects. It dehydrates (you pee more, hence a perceived weight loss) and it increases the heart rate, so you don’t feel sluggish while you reduce food intake and it makes you feel as if you have more energy to move around. The downside is that if there’s too much caffeine in the pill, then you could feel jittery or as if your heart is racing. Likewise, if you don’t compensate for the water loss by drinking more water, you could end up dehydrated. There are diet pills on the market that are caffeine free for people who are particularly sensitive to the effects of caffeine.

The caffeine in diet pills speed up your metabolic rate for awhile, burning a couple more calories than otherwise. Caffeine hypes up the system, but when it burns out, watch out! That’s when people crave the carbs and sweets putting in jeapordy all the calories they burned while the diet pill was working! A diet should be a healthy change for the better. What a person’s eating habits should do is keep his or her blood level at an even level. Caffeine, sweets, highly processed carbs won’t do that for you. That’s why you should skip the diet pills and focus on eating a balanced, healthy diet.

most of teh other answers are at least slightly ture. caffine increases fatt acid transport from the fat stores to the working cells, thus caffine will increse the proportion of fat burnt during low intensity exercise.

Caffeine in general is not bad for you. The only time there is a problem is if someone is sensitive to caffeine or if you over do it.

Many diet products contain caffeine not to speed up your metabolism (since the amount is so tiny) but because caffeine is a diuretic and you will lose water weight. You’ll then notice your scale going down and also you’ll be less puffy and bloated.

You can get the same effect by squeezing 1/2 lemon in a glass of warn water.

Houman body needs certain amount of caffine to satisfy the digistive system chimstry. such a level of caffine should be maintained in the body.
Too much caffine acts exactlly like too little and both cases acting the same but in opposite direction.
People drinking a lot of coffee, the level of caffine in their body is high and visa versa. therefore, people having low level of caffine in their body needs that caffine in the pills to activate the chimical activation.
